TAMARA OTT
Tamara is a Kathakar dancer from Geneva. She discovered this art when she was 10 during a workshop given by her guru Pandit Ravi Shankar Mishra, a famous exponent of Banaras Gharana. It was a love at first sight with between her and this dance. Over time, as she grew up, her art became more important in her life.
She had the opportunity to live for few months in Varanasi, living at her guru’s place and learning from him, not only Kathak dance but everything related to the dance : music, traditions and so on.
Tamara was also lucky to learn Kathak with Anuj Mishra, Pali Chandra, Sharmila Sharma, Sushmita Banerjee and Kavita Thakur, all great and famous dancers from Lucknow Gharana.
She is now travelling regularly to India to train there and to participate to Kathak performances.
In parallel to her dance training, she had gotten a master thesis in psychology from Geneva University. She has been studying mainly emotion and gesture towards music and dance.
